The vaporizer is designed for ethane service with a reference design temperature down to -100°C. Materials and pressure-containing components are selected according to the specified design conditions and applicable project requirements.
The shell-and-tube configuration provides effective heat transfer between the ethane process medium and circulating hot water while keeping the two media physically separated. Under the reference operating conditions, the ethane temperature increases from -88°C at the inlet to 5°C at the outlet.
The tube side is designed for a reference pressure of 3.0 MPa(g), compared with an actual reference inlet operating pressure of 2.2 MPa(g). Mechanical design and equipment configuration are determined according to the specified pressure and temperature conditions.
The water bath vaporizer uses circulating hot water for indirect heating, providing controlled heat transfer to the ethane process medium and reducing the risk of localized overheating associated with direct heating methods.
The vaporizer and condenser are supplied as a matched process package according to the required operating conditions. This facilitates system integration and reduces the need for separate equipment matching during project engineering.
